Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treats unwanted pigment changes and redness. Many patients complain of brown spots, sun damage spots, rosacea, or overall “blotchiness” in their skin that becomes harder to cover with makeup. IPL rejuvenates skin so you can enjoy a healthier glow and complexion.

IPL is often combined in our office with other treatments such as cryotherapy and the use of a hyfrecator to remove seborrheic keratoses and sebaceous hyperplasias (benign growths) so that the texture of your skin is smoother as well.

Most patients require a series of three treatments in the beginning. Treatments then taper off to 1 treatment every 4-6 months depending on the condition that is being treated.

After your treatment is over, there is some redness, mild swelling, and possibly mild crusting if cryotherapy and the hyfrecator were used to remove spots. Everyone heals at a different rate and can take 7-21 days to heal depending on the area treated (face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs).

Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser treatment that is FDA cleared for all skin types. It gently heats the skin and as a result, collagen is healthier and redness can improve. Laser Genesis is a safe procedure with minimal side effects and downtime. In fact, many patients love this procedure to plump and fluff before a big event as you’ll look incredible before a big event like a gala or a wedding.
Most people purchase packages of Laser Genesis so they can maintain the health and collagen of their skin. Treatments are performed every 2-4 months to maintain the health of their skin. Chemical peels and IPL treatments can be done in between Laser Genesis treatments if other concerns arise.

Active FX Laser Resurfacing

Active FX Laser Resurfacing is one of the deepest lasers available. The laser penetrates into the dermis and allows the skin to create new collage and elastin. This will then improve skin tone and texture. It improves acne scars, sun damage, large pores, fine lines, and wrinkles.
Active FX is done on the face, neck, and chest most frequently. Because of the depth of the procedure, pain medication and anti-anxiety medication is prescribed. Generous injectable and topical anesthetic is used. The preparation time (approximately 2-3 hours) is much longer than the actual procedure time.
Patients should expect 7-14 days of crusting, redness, and swelling. After your skin has healed, it will stay red and sometimes develop some pigmentation which is temporary for approximately two months. The expected final results are between 6-9 months after the procedure and can last approximately 5 years.

Perfect Derma™ Peel

Perfect Derma Peel uses a combination of powerful antioxidants and chemical peels to provide an anti-aging system and peel to patients that are wanting to restore youthfulness to their skin. It helps reduce brown spots, acne scars, and sun damage. This peel improves your skin tone and texture while softening the fine lines that you may have on your face, eyes, neck, and chest.
All ethnicities can have this peel done. The peel is done in the office and you can drive yourself to and from the procedure. You might look a little bit red or suntanned after the peel but there is no discomfort after the peel has been applied. Depending on the health of your skin, thickness of your collagen, and how much oil you produce, you may peel for 3-7 days.
Patients generally expect to do 3-4 peels per year. One peel every 3-4 months yields wonderful results for the person that is trying to maintain a youthful and healthy skin tone.

TCA and Phenol Peels

TCA and Phenol Peels are done at multiple strengths and for different reasons. Chemical peels have different strengths to target different depths in the epidermis and dermis based on the indication and concern that you have. A variety of conditions are treated with chemical peels such as large pores, irregular texture of the skin, scars, pigmentation (brown spots), and wrinkles. Some lighter peels are done purely for rejuvenation of the skin while the deeper peels are for deeper wrinkles around the eyes or mouth (perioral) areas.
The deeper the chemical peel, the longer the downtime you can expect. There are chemical peels that do not peel and are purely for rejuvenation and are wonderful for people who like a glow for a wedding or a gala. Some patients have deeper wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes and mouth and require a deep chemical peel which does have downtime for the healing process.

TCA and Phenol Cross

TCA and Phenol Cross are used to treat ice pick acne scars and dilated pores. Multiple treatments are done over the course of 12 months and the scars and pores close slowly over time. There is little to no discomfort when the treatment is done. A small crust remains for approximately 7 days before it falls off. There are little to no restrictions when these treatments are done.

Melasma

Melasma is a chronic and relapsing condition of pigmentation involving the face, neck, chest, and arms. It occurs in both men and women. Many people have tried multiple procedures and topical products. Although there is no cure for melasma, having a prescription regimen and a plan for treatment has given hope to many women who have felt self conscious about their skin for decades.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is done for a variety of reasons. Cryotherapy is done for benign skin spots such as seborrheic keratoses, lentigines (brown spots), precancers (actinic keratoses), and small flat warts. It is a very safe method of treatment. It is safe for hair bearing areas and does not destroy hair. It can be done all over the body.
Most patients require a series of three treatments in the beginning. Treatments then taper off to 1 treatment every 6-12 months depending on the condition that is being treated.
After your treatment is over, there is some redness, mild swelling, and mild crusting. Everyone heals at a different rate and can take 3-21 days to heal depending on the area treated (face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs).

Acne Treatments

Acne Treatments available to patients include the use of oral and topical medication. Treatments are available to all age groups since it is now widely accepted that acne does not only exist in the adolescent years. Acne treatments can be individually tailored to your lifestyle and skin care goals.

Scar Therapy

Scar Therapy is available to all patients with any type of scar. Different types of scars that can be treated are acne scars, injuries, skin cancer scars, dog bites, and skin grafts. Depending on the type of scar that you have, a recommendation for a regimen, lasers, chemical peels, or microneedling can help improve the color and texture of your scar.

Subcisions

Subcisions are done on scar tissue if is pulling scar tissue down and keeping it adherent to underlying tissue. Depending on how many scars need to be done, topical or local anesthetic is used. This is a safe and effective procedure that stimulates collagen under scar tissue.
Most patients require a series of treatments in the beginning. Subcision can be combined with other procedures such as laser resurfacing, microneedling, chemical peels, fillers, and excision of scars.
After your treatment is over, there is some redness, mild swelling, and bruising. Most people heal in 7-10 days but the final results can take 6 months to see.

Hair Loss

There are multiple causes for hair loss. Nutraceuticals, topical prescription medication, oral prescription medications, and injectable therapy are offered for all phases of hair loss depending on your diagnosis. Hair loss starts with the proper diagnosis before the regimen can begin. For most patients, hair loss regimens take at least 6 months before hair begins to improve and at least 12-18 months for you to see a regimen’s full benefit. It is a very slow process since hair growth is slow.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the treatment of spider veins on the lower extremities. A solution is injected into the spider vein and it causes the vein to seal shut. The body helps this vein fade away within a few weeks to months.
Sclerotherapy is well tolerated. You may drive yourself to the appointment and drive yourself home. You might have some bruising, swelling, itching, redness, or darkening of the skin or vein where it was injected. Small blood clots in and around the vein can also occur. You are allowed to shower right away but you should not soak in a bathtub, jacuzzi or swim for 2 days.
Most patients require a series of treatments in the beginning. The more spider veins you have to start, the more treatments you will have within your series. Annual treatments are then needed annually for maintenance.
