After a CoolSculpting Treatment, Fat Disappears
Modern cosmetic science is a marvelous thing. Many people maintain a healthy diet and a regular exercise routine but are unable to shed stubborn pockets of fat on particular areas of their bodies. CoolSculpting is revolutionary when it comes to kicking those pockets of fat to the curb.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive type of fat-reduction treatment that’s safer than traditional procedures like liposuction. During the procedure, patients do not feel anything except for a slight tugging sensation when the skin is between the device’s cooling panels.
The treatment doesn’t involve any cutting, tissue manipulation, or anesthesia. As a result of this, no recovery time is needed and patients can resume normal activities immediately.
Benefits of CoolSculpting
• It is a non-surgical treatment – CoolSculpting avoids all the downsides related to surgery, like scars, recovery time, and anesthesia. It is non-invasive and doesn’t require nearly as much of a commitment from the patient as other treatments.
• The results are natural-looking – Since there are no scars left behind and the fat is broken down and naturally processed by your own body, CoolSculpting results look very natural.
• It is safe and very effective – CoolSculpting has been approved by the FDA as a fat-reduction therapy and has been rigorously clinically tested. This makes it a very safe type of treatment.
Before you can set a date for your procedure, you will need to meet with your plastic surgeon during a consultation at Anson, Edwards & Higgins Plastic Surgery Associates.
A consultation will help your plastic surgeon better understand your needs and aesthetic goals. It will be important for you to bring your complete medical history to this consultation. You will also get to look at before-and-after photos and ask any questions you may have.
The CoolSculpting Process
For your treatment, warming gel pads will be placed over the targeted areas in order to protect the superficial skin from cold. The CoolSculpting paddles will be placed around a target area and suction will be created to keep the area in place.
The temperature in the target area will then be lowered in order to freeze the lipids in the fat cells; none of the other cells are affected. The treatment takes around an hour per area, and during it, patients can relax, read, sleep, or use mobile devices as desired.
Are You a Good Candidate?
While CoolSculpting is a safe treatment, some people are advised to not pursue the treatment because of various medical reasons. Some of the reasons that rule out the treatment include:
Pregnancy, chronic pain conditions, severe anxiety disorders, cyroglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, Raynaud’s disease, chilblains, less circulation or skin sensation around the treatment area, nerve conditions, skin conditions dependant on the immune system, inflammatory skin conditions, recent injury to the treatment area, long-term usage of blood-thinning medicines, any bleeding conditions that thin the blood, history of a hernia, and active medical devices such as a pacemaker.
