The Benefits of Combination Plastic Surgery Procedures
One downtime, one recovery period, one anesthetic and one trip to the operating room are some of the reasons people are choosing to have multiple plastic surgery procedures done at the same time.
Combining procedures is commonplace today. It’s generally safer for the patient, takes less time to perform surgery with a shorter recovery period, and it saves the patient money as well for booking operating rooms and having anesthesia. Here are some popular combination procedures we have performed at our Las Vegas plastic surgery practice:
The term “Mommy Makeover” is used to describe two or more procedures that help a woman regain her pre-pregnancy body. The physical changes that occur after pregnancy include breast and abdominal sagging, excess skin and even stretch marks.
Procedures included in a Mommy Makeover include breast lift, breast augmentation, liposuction and skin tightening. Some women opt for a breast reduction over an augmentation, but most want the lift regardless.
Abdominal sagging is improved by having a full or mini tummy tuck also known as an abdominoplasty. Depending upon your post-pregnancy body, a mini or full tummy tuck is successful in removing excess skin and reducing or eliminating a sagging abdominal area.
Abdominal muscles are tightened while lower abdominal skin is removed. This procedure can greatly reduce the amount of stretch marks acquired through pregnancy. Sometimes, liposuction is included to further sculpt and shape the midsection.
Nose and Chin Surgeries
For people who are unhappy with the size or shape of their nose, a rhinoplasty, also called a “nose job,” helps to create a nose that is in harmony with your face. A wide nose can be narrowed, and a bumpy or crooked nose can be contoured into a more aesthetically pleasing shape.
One of the combination surgeries that really makes sense if you have trouble breathing is a septoplasty. The septum that separates your inner nose into two chambers can be off center. In some cases the septum restricts breathing in one nostril. By repairing the deviated septum at the same time you’re having a rhinoplasty, you combine beauty with function.
Another surgical procedure that may be combined with a rhinoplasty is a chin implant. In some cases, chin augmentation helps to balance your facial features and complement the look of your new shapely nose.
Other procedures or treatments that are often combined when doing facial rejuvenation include two or more of the following:
- Face lift
- Brow lift
- Eye lift
- Chin lift
- Neck lift
- Chin implants
- Facial and neck liposuction
- Skin resurfacing
- Botox and fillers
- Chemical peel
- Laser treatment
Some of these are performed together while others require repeat visits. Discuss your options for facial rejuvenation with our providers to learn which surgical and non-surgical combinations would be best for you to achieve the results you desire. Schedule a consultation today!
