Changes in volume due to loss of fat in particular areas of the faceis one of the first noticeable signs of aging. Volume loss creates a hollow appearance that can make you look older than you actually are. This process marks the early stages of facial aging, becoming noticeable in your 30s and 40s. We offer injectable dermal fillers, such as RADIESSE®, Restylane® and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™, at our Las Vegas practice, to restore volume, give you plumper cheeks, and fill out lines and creases around your mouth.

Are Injectable Fillers Right For Me?
Men and women who are concerned about early signs of aging but who aren’t ready for a surgical facelift are the patients we most commonly treat with dermal fillers. Our doctors may recommend combining fillers with BOTOX®Cosmetic injections, which temporarily immobilize muscles that cause frown lines and crow’s feet.
Autologous fat transfer is another excellent option for many patients who need to restore volume to their faces or hands. Using liposuction, fat is taken from one area of your body, such as the abdomen or hips, processed, and then injected where it’s needed.
Good candidates for fillers still have good skin texture and elasticity. Fillers are designed to soften or eliminate lines around the mouth and nasolabial folds and enhance the mid-face area around the cheeks.
How Are Fillers Injected?
An experienced, skilled injector uses fillers with precision, maximizing their effect while ensuring that unsightly bumps don’t develop. Many fillers are now formulated with local anesthetic designed to numb the injection area and enhance your comfort. In some cases, a topical anesthetic cream may be used prior to injections.
We Are Expert Injectors
Our plastic surgeons have earned the designation of Expert Injectors, which means they meet the highest standards regarding patient safety, reliable results, and consumer education. You can be confident that the aesthetic products used at our practice come directly from the manufacturer and that our team of medical professionals who assist with injectable treatments have received extensive training.
What Fillers Should I Use?
Each filler has specific characteristics and each person has a specific skin tyhpe, thickness and facial characteristics that guide our recommendations. Fillers can be combined for comprehensive facial rejuvenation and, depending on the product used, can last from 6 months to 2 years. The fillers we offer at Anson, Edwards & Higgins include:
VOLUMA: VOLUMA is the newest hyaluronic acid (HA) filler approved by the FDA and the first to be approved specifically for cheek volume enhancement. It is a synthetic version of a molecule naturally found in your skin. VOLUMA is a very welcome addition to our available fillers and can last up to 2 years.
JUVÉDERM: This family of HA products includes JUVÉDERM Ultra, JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus, and JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC. Until the recent release of VOLUMA, these fillers were the workhorse for improving facial contours, folds, and wrinkles.
Restylane: This family of HA products includes Restylane, Restylane-L, and Perlane. The Restylane family of products are used for enhancement of contour, folds, wrinkles and lip enhancement.
Sculptra: Unlike many other fillers, Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid and promotes your own collagen production. It requires multiple injections scheduled about a month apart. Results develop gradually and can last up to 2 years.
Radiesse: Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite. It offers immediate volume enhancement and has also been shown to stimulate natural collagen production.

“We have so many great filler options today compared to 10 years ago. My advice is to rely on the recommendations offered at your consultation. Just as for lasers, don’t rely on the P.R. and advertising generated by the manufacturers who make the products. Let a professional injector help you separate hype from reality.”
