VECTRA 3D Breast Imaging Las Vegas
VECTRA 3D Aesthetic Simulation
Trying to envision how you will look after breast augmentation surgery can be challenging. You can review before-and-after photos, talk with friends who’ve had similar procedures, and even look through magazines and tabloids filled with pictures of surgically enhanced celebrities but you know that your anatomy is very individualized. But when it comes to getting the reassurance you need about the decision to have plastic surgery, VECTRA 3D breast imaging in Las Vegas at Anson, Edwards and Higgins is the state-of-the-art choice.
What to Expect at Your Breast Augmentation Consultation
Your consultation will begin with a thorough review of your medical history. Next, Dr. Edwards or Dr. Higgins will examine you taking very careful measurements. Next, both traditional 2D and 3D images will be taken. These images will be available for your review on the TouchMD system which you will be able to view in the privacy of on your home computer or portable device.
Using Sculptor 3D Software, Dr. Edwards, Dr. Higgins, and their staff will be able to analyze your images and show you the possible results of breast augmentation with various sized breast implants of appropriate dimensions and volumes. With the staff you will be able to experiment with different looks until you find the look you want.
Once you have decided on the appearance you want, this simulation will provide a basis for your surgical plan. Because you have already seen a simulation of the result, you can have more confidence about what to expect after you have healed.
What is VECTRA 3D Breast Imaging?
Using VECTRA during your consultation allows for a detailed surgical planning by providing you, the patient, with visual answers to your questions and setting reasonable expectations about your results. Precise measurements and details of your individual anatomy are recorded by the software system and a very accurate virtual image is developed. Simple graphical tools clearly model surgical results. VECTRA Imaging uses a 3D photo compilation of your body and allows Dr. Edwards or Dr. Higgins to simulate breast implants of different sizes and shapes to better visualize how you may look should you elect a breast enhancement procedure allowing the patient to view their side-by-side before-and-after photos for easy comparison.
About VECTRA 3D Simulation Technology
The VECTRA 3D Camera
The VECTRA 3D camera captures a three dimensional photograph of you in a private setting. Using multiple cameras, it takes a number of pictures simultaneously from several different points of view. This is used to build a three dimensional virtual model of the subject.
Sculptor 3D Software
The three dimensional photograph is processed by Sculptor software to display the virtual model on a computer monitor in the exam room. It can be rotated on the screen and viewed from almost any angle. The software then allows your doctor to apply simulation tools that change the size, shape and position of your breasts to achieve the desired appearance. Once you are satisfied with the result, your doctor will develop a surgical plan based on the changes you have made.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will I be able to see what different implants are best for me?
Yes. You will be able to see how you would look with different size and types of implants. You will also be able to see the possible benefits of a breast lift in conjunction with the augmentation.
How close will the simulated result be to the actual result?
Actual results will be very similar to the simulations. VECTRA simulations are based on the actual implants that Dr. Edwards or Dr. Higgins will use.
Will this software help my surgeon to see that my breasts are different sizes?
VECTRA software includes special tools to show the size and position of each breast. Breast asymmetry is very common, and VECTRA analysis helps your surgeon develop a surgical plan which will compensate for it if necessary.
Is VECTRA 3D Imaging and Simulation really that good?
Breast surgery is highly individualized, and it is often difficult to explain or express your goals. Looking at other patients results is relatively inaccurate because the main contribution to your outcome is your unique breasts and bra stuffing does not give an accurate appraisal either and will overestimate your result. Although there is no method or simulation that will allow you to experience exactly what your breasts will look like post operatively, VECTRA Breast Imaging gives you a visual image for the range of outcomes that may be achieved for your body. VECTRA Breast Imaging provides a very realistic view of your breasts 3-dimensionally, and helps visually with the implant selection process.
Will the results of 3D Breast Imaging and Simulation be the same as my surgical outcomes?
No, imaging provides a range and an approximation of what you may look like after surgery, it is not an absolute. Your results take into account not only the breast implant size and shape that will be placed, but also your own natural tissues, the density and firmness of this tissue, sagginess of the breast and other anatomical features that simulation cannot 100% duplicate, however we are finding the simulation results very accurate and a great visual for patients.
Is there an added cost for 3D Breast Imaging and Simulation?
No, Dr. Edwards and Dr. Higgins believe 3D Breast Imaging and Simulation is an important part of your education, informed consent, consultation and experience.
Will 3D Breast Imaging and Simulation help if I need a breast lift with my augmentation?
Not well. The software designers at Canfield are working diligently to improve the ability of the software to simulate a breast lift but as of now this is not yet available.
Can Dr. Edwards or Dr. Higgins show me where the scars will be?
Your surgeon will review your surgical plan utilizing the TouchMD system and will review your anatomy, the anticipated incisions and scars.
